Vietnam operates on a 220 V voltage system. If you’re from  North, South, Central America or the Caribbean, check your appliances. You may need a voltage regulator.

Plugs can be 2 or 3 pronged, flat or round but numerous shops sell plug adaptors. Try ‘electric street’ Nguyen Cong Tru and the alleys south of it.

Some equipment (computers and CD players) have a switch to adapt to different systems.
