CLOTHES
Supermarkets of ten have a clothes section although styles and sizes are limited. Try the malls – Big C, Parkson, Syrena, VinCom Tower – for brand names. The designer boutiques, Burberry, Galerie Royale, Escada, near the Opera House have famous labels and the area around the cathedral – Nha Tho, Nha Chung, Hang Trong, Hang Bong and Ly Quoc Su – is home to small designer clothing shops. Hang Gai has ready made and tailored clothes. Luong Van Can has a lot of ‘ao dai’ shops.
Vietnam has some name brand manufacturers so if you’re lucky you will sometimes find the odd shirt, trousers or jacket made for export in large sizes. Keep your eyes peeled.
