Living in Hanoi
What is it about this city that draws people back ? The wall of perfume when you drive along Tran Binh Trong at 2am in the spring ? The colours of the flame trees around Hoan Kiem Lake ? Wandering through some alley and finding AMAZING carvings on a hidden temple ? Plodding through flood waters to get home – catching someones eye – and bursting into giggles ?
Theories abound but certainly you’ll NEVER be bored here. There is more danger of sensory overload but I guarantee that when you go home you’ll find it a wee bit sterile.
The first few months can be overwhelming. Arm yourself with as much information as you can, connect with like minded people and go with the flow.
